So, I'm totally using the blog to my advantage of all of you wonderful people that follow this. I am in the midst of writing my research paper for my English comp II class and was hoping you all could spare some time and take a survey for me! Your help would be awesome! Thankyou!

Crafty Me

Yes. I said it. The C word. Crafty. It was barely a year ago when this word was one that should never be spoken.

I was NOT crafty. Artistic, sure, I could live with that. But NEVER crafty.

I could never understand why a person would want to spend hours at a sewing machine or gluing bits of paper together.

How was that fun? Granted, I would spend most of my time playing in a pretend world of sims, where all I worried about was getting my silly characters to use the bathroom.

But recently, something just clicked on. I love creating things.

I love crafting things and seeing the finished result. It may not be the cutest thing ever, but I made it!

My friend Emily and I have recently had a cool experience with one of our craft endeavors: sock monkeys. It started by Momma Jones and I trying to figure out how to make one of these darn things for Abby's baby shower, to Emily and I now selling them to local stores here in Colorado Springs! It's been quite the experience, and I've kept myself from getting too excited about it all, seeing if there really is a dire need for sock monkeys and such, but what I find the most thrilling part about this all is that I can FINALLY make presents for other people that are not coupon books or elmer's glued pictures with popsicle sticks.

I heart my sewing machine.

Oh, and if any of you are in the neighborhood, stop by Envy in Old Colorado and Retro Moto's Toys in Manitou...you may just see some fun little monkeys in need of a good home.
